An approved inspector is a person who, in accordance with building regulations1, is approved for the purposes of Part II of the Building Act 19842 by the appropriate national authority3, or by a body, corporate or unincorporated, that, in accordance with the regulations, is designated by the appropriate national authority for the purpose4. Any such approval may limit the description of work in relation to which the person concerned is an approved inspector5.
