In the United Kingdom there are numerous standard forms of contract for use on construction projects. Because of the proliferation of these standard forms and because they are frequently amended, this title does not provide references to standard forms of contract. However, it may be noted that for building works the Joint Contracts Tribunal ('JCT')1 issues a series of standard form contracts for use as principal or main contracts, nominated or named sub-contracts, ordinary or domestic sub-contracts and contracts of supply, as well as a major project form, an intermediate form and a form for minor building works.
