In a building contract there are four principal ways in which a term will be implied:
(1) implication by statute1;
(2) implication to make the contract work2;
(3) implication of 'usual terms'3; or
(4) implication by custom4.
Implied terms are dealt with in more detail elsewhere in this work5.
