Where, in breach of contract, the sub-contractor delays the completion of the sub-contract works having known at the date of contracting that under the contract between the employer and the main contractor the main contractor is liable to liquidated damages or forfeiture for delay, the liability of the sub-contractor to the contractor for delay is increased1.
