277.     Continuing duty of care on disposal of premises.

Where work of construction, repair, maintenance or demolition or any other work is done on or in relation to premises1, the duty of care owed, because of the doing of that work, to persons who might reasonably be expected to be affected by defects in the premises created by the doing of the work is not abated by the subsequent disposal2 of the premises by the person who owed the duty3.

This does not apply to certain transactions4 occurring before 1 January 19745
