433. Administrative co-operation and recognition of professional qualifications.

The Architects Registration Board1 is designated as the competent authority in the United Kingdom2 for the purposes of the European Parliament and Council Directive on the recognition of professional qualifications ('the Directive')3 so far as relating to architects4. As a competent authority, the Board is able to: (1) issue, or receive, evidence of qualifications or other information or documents; or (2) receive applications, and take the decisions, referred to in the Directive, in connection with the profession of architect5.

Accordingly, the Board must carry out in the United Kingdom (in particular) the mutual-recognition functions6 so far as relating to architects7
