33.     Secretary of State's power to give directions to Ofcom about the carrying out of its radio spectrum functions.

The Secretary of State1 may by order give general or specific directions to Ofcom2 about the carrying out by Ofcom of its radio spectrum functions3; and by such an order Ofcom may be required:

  1.  

    (1)     to secure that such frequencies4 of the electromagnetic spectrum as may be specified in the order are kept available or become available either for such uses (or descriptions of uses),
