Where it appears to Ofcom1 to be expedient to do so for the purpose of preventing or reducing the risk of interference with wireless telegraphy2, it may make an order3 (a 'restriction order')4 imposing restrictions in relation to wireless telegraphy apparatus5 and to apparatus designed or adapted for use in connection with wireless telegraphy apparatus, of a class or description specified in the order6. The restrictions may relate to the following actions7:
(1) the manufacture8 of apparatus (whether or not for sale)9;
(2) selling apparatus or offering it for sale10;
(3) letting apparatus on hire or offering to let
