A national licence1 may be renewed2 on one occasion for a period of 12 years beginning with the date of renewal3. An application for the renewal of a national licence may be made by the licence holder4 not earlier than three years before the date on which it would otherwise cease to be in force5 and not later than the day falling three months before the relevant date6. Where any such application is made7, Ofcom may postpone the consideration of the application for so long as it thinks appropriate8.
