41. Prohibition on the use of frequency bands for the provision of mobile satellite services without an authorisation.

A person commits an offence if that person uses the frequency bands 1980 to 2010MHz and 2170 to 2200MHz or any part of those bands for the provision of mobile satellite services1 except under and in accordance with an authorisation2 granted by Ofcom3. A person who commits such an offence is liable, on conviction on indictment, to an unlimited fine or, on summary conviction, to a fine of not more than level 5 on the standard scale (if not calculated on a daily basis) or a fine of not more than £100 a day
