83. Prohibition of broadcasting from ships, aircraft and marine structures, etc.

It is unlawful1:


    (1)     in the case of any ship2 or aircraft3, to make a broadcast4 from it while it is in or over the United Kingdom5 or external waters6; or


    (2)     in the case of a British-registered7 ship or British-registered aircraft8, to make a broadcast from it while it is not in or over the United Kingdom or external waters9.

If a broadcast is made from a ship in contravention of the prohibitions contained under heads (1) and (2) above, an offence is committed by the owner of the ship, by the master10 of the ship, and by a
