It is the duty of Ofcom1 to draw up, and from time to time review, a code giving guidance as to principles to be observed, and practices to be followed, in connection with the avoidance of2:
(1) unjust or unfair treatment3 in programmes to which these provisions apply ('fairness')4; or
(2) unwarranted infringement of privacy in, or in connection with the obtaining of material included in, such programmes ('privacy')5.
From time to time, Ofcom must publish the code (as for the time being in force)6.
Before drawing up or revising the code, Ofcom must consult each broadcasting body
