The authority known as the Welsh Fourth Channel Authority ('the Welsh Authority')1 continues in existence as a body corporate2 but is now known as Sianel Pedwar Cymru (or S4C)3, and is constituted in accordance with the Broadcasting Act 19904.
The Welsh Authority consists of a chairman appointed by the Secretary of State5, and such number of other members appointed by the Secretary of State, being not less than four nor more than eight, as he may from time to time determine6. Further provision is made in relation to the Welsh Authority
