The Secretary of State1 may, if he thinks fit2, grant any application3 for registration of a minor4 as a British overseas territories citizen5.
A person born outside the British overseas territories6 is entitled7, on an application made within 12 months8 from his birth, to be registered as a British overseas territories citizen if: (1) one of his parents was a British overseas territories citizen by descent9 at the time of the birth10; (2) the father or mother of that parent was a British overseas territories citizen otherwise than by descent at the time
