434. Acquisition by registration: minors.

The Secretary of State1 may, if he thinks fit2, grant any application3 for registration of a minor as a British citizen4.

A person born outside the United Kingdom5 before 21 May 20026 is entitled7, on an application made while he is a minor, to be registered as a British citizen if: (1) one of his parents was a British citizen by descent8 at the time of the birth9; and (2) the father or mother of that parent was a British citizen otherwise than by descent at the time of the birth of that parent, or became a British citizen otherwise
