Until IP completion day1, the British Nationality Act 1981 provides that a British overseas territories citizen2 who falls to be treated as a national of the United Kingdom for the purposes of the European Union Treaties3 is entitled4, on application5, to be registered as a British citizen6. The only British overseas territories citizens who fulfil this description are those who acquired that citizenship from a connection with Gibraltar7.
