464. Trustee's ancillary powers.

For the purpose of, or in connection with, the exercise of any of his powers under the Insolvency Act 1986, 1the trustee may, by his official name2:

  1.  

    (1)     hold property of every description;

  2.  

    (2)     make contracts;

  3.  

    (3)     sue and be sued;

  4.  

    (4)     enter into engagements binding on himself and, in respect of the bankrupt's estate, on his successor in office;
