Before making a detailed assessment of the costs of a person employed in insolvency proceedings1 by the office-holder2, the costs officer must require a certificate of employment3. The certificate must be indorsed on the bill and signed by the office-holder and must include: (1) the name and address of the person employed; (2) details of the functions to be carried out under the employment; and (3) a note of any special terms of remuneration which have been agreed4.
