The principal sources of the law governing cross border insolvency are:
(1) in relation to insolvency proceedings in member states of the European Union (except Denmark), the EU Insolvency Regulation1;
(2) the Cross-Border Insolvency Regulations 20062 which give effect in Great Britain to the UNCITRAL model law in a modified form3;
(3) the provisions in the Insolvency Act 1986 relating to co-operation between courts having jurisdiction in relation to insolvency4;
(4) the common law
