The official receiver, in relation to any bankruptcy1, individual voluntary arrangement2, debt relief order or application for such an order3, is any person who is authorised4 to act as the official receiver in relation to that bankruptcy, individual voluntary arrangement, debt relief order or application for such an order5. The Secretary of State appoints persons to the office of official receiver, and determines salary and terms and conditions of appointment6.
