The Civil Aviation Authority ('CAA')1 keeps separate records of births and deaths in aircraft registered in the United Kingdom2, and also a record of persons reported to it as missing persons3, that is, persons with respect to whom there are reasonable grounds for believing that they have died in consequence of an accident to an aircraft registered in the United Kingdom4; and it must send a certified copy of any entry in these records to the Registrar General for England, Scotland or Northern Ireland
