The commander of an aircraft must not make use of any radio navigation aid without complying with such restrictions and appropriate procedures as may be notified1 in relation to that aid2. However, he is not required to comply with those restrictions and procedures if the aircraft is required to comply with an air traffic control clearance issued for the flight or the commander is otherwise authorised by an air traffic control unit3.
