For the purpose of protecting aircraft, aerodromes1 and air navigation installations2 against acts of violence3, the Secretary of State4 may make regulations5 requiring specified persons to report to him or the Civil Aviation Authority ('CAA')6 any occurrence of a specified description, including occurrences taking place outside the United Kingdom7 which concern aircraft registered in the United Kingdom8. The regulations may also make provision in relation to offences and penalties9.
