A personal flying log must be kept by every member of the flight crew1 of an aircraft registered in the United Kingdom2 and every person who engages in flying for the purpose of qualifying for the:
(1) grant of a flight crew licence under the Air Navigation Order 20163;
(2) grant of a flight crew licence issued by the Civil Aviation Authority '(CAA')4 under Part-FCL5;
(3) grant, renewal or revalidation of a rating or certificate under the Air Navigation Order 20166; or
(4) grant, renewal or revalidation of a certificate under Part-FCL7.
