There are two statutory regimes currently in force governing aircraft noise certification. The first is established under the Aeroplane Noise Regulations 19991. This legislation makes provision implementing European Community obligations on the limitation of noise emissions from certain aircraft2, establishing standards with which propeller-driven aircraft and civil subsonic jet aeroplanes must comply and making provision for the certification of compliance. The second statutory regime exists under the Air Navigation (Environmental Standards for Non-EASA Aircraft) Order 2008
