Where a flight data recorder, or a cockpit voice recorder, or a combined voice recorder/flight data recorder is required to be carried in an aircraft1, it must be in use from the beginning of the take-off run until the end of the landing run2 or, in the case of a helicopter3, from the time that the rotors first turn for the purpose of taking off until the rotors are next stopped
