1180. Exceptions to the necessity for licences for members of flight crews.

Within the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man, and in certain cases subject to a series of conditions, a person may without holding an appropriate licence granted or rendered valid under the Air Navigation Order 20161 act as:


    (1)     a flight radiotelephony operator2;


    (2)     pilot in command of a non-EASA aircraft3 for the purpose of becoming qualified for the grant or renewal of a pilot's licence or the inclusion or variation of any rating in such a licence4;


    (3)     pilot of a non-EASA aircraft of which the flight crew required to be carried by or
