The manager of an aerodrome1 may of his own accord, or when requested by the Secretary of State2 must3, apply to the Secretary of State for the designation of the whole or part of the aerodrome as a security restricted area4 for the purposes of aviation security5.Where the aerodrome includes an air navigation installation6, the aerodrome manager must consult the authority responsible for any air navigation installation to be found on the aerodrome before making the application7.
