708. Carriers by air.

The international carriage of passengers, baggage and cargo by air is governed by the Montreal Convention of 19991 or where states have not ratified the Montreal Convention, the Warsaw Convention of 19292. The Montreal Convention provides a uniform international code relating to the liability of air carriers in respect of loss, injury and damage sustained in the course of, or arising out of, international carriage by air3. The Montreal Convention consolidated and replaced the Warsaw Convention of 1929 and the series of amending protocols which progressively increased the specified liability limits, and the supplementary Guadalajara Convention of 1961 which
