The Secretary of State1 may, for any purpose connected with the discharge of his functions relating to civil aviation2, acquire land by agreement or be authorised to acquire land compulsorily3. The Secretary of State may also authorise the Civil Aviation Authority ('CAA')4, air traffic services licence holders5 and relevant airport operators6 to acquire land compulsorily.
