331. Terms of enlistment; extension or reduction of period of service.

A person may be enlisted1 in the Royal Air Force for a term beginning with the date of the entrant's enlistment2 and expiring on a date falling between six months and 20 years or the person's 40th birthday, whichever is the later3.

A person who has reached the age of 16 years may be enlisted in the Royal Air Force for a term (which may include service in the reserve) of not less than three years nor more than twelve years air force service from the relevant date.4.
