A person subject to service law1 commits an offence if: (1) he does an act2 that causes3 the hazarding of any of Her Majesty's ships4 and (a) he intends to cause damage to or the stranding or loss of the ship, and there is no lawful excuse5 for his act; or (b) he is reckless as to whether he causes damage to or the stranding or loss of the ship6; or (2) negligently, he does an act that causes the hazarding of any of Her Majesty's ships7. A person guilty of any such offence8 is liable to any punishment
