Any process to be served on a relevant person1 in connection with proceedings for a maintenance order2, or for the variation, revocation or revival of such an order, must be treated as duly served on the relevant person if it is served on his commanding officer3.
Where any process in connection with such proceedings is served on the commanding officer of a relevant person, such service of process is of no effect if within 21 days of the date on which the process is served upon him the commanding officer certifies to the issuing court that: (1) the relevant person
