546. Requirement to sit in open court.

Subject to any provision made by Court Martial rules1, the Court Martial2 must sit in open court3. The exceptions to this are: (1) while the court is deliberating on a finding4 or sentence5; and (2) where the judge advocate6 makes an order that the proceedings7 or any part of any proceedings be held in camera8.

A judge advocate may order that any proceedings, or any part of any proceedings, be held in camera, if satisfied that the order is necessary or expedient in the interests of the administration of justice9. A judge advocate may conclude that it is necessary or
