252. Reinstatement in civil employment.

Where a member of the reserve forces1 in permanent service2 applies to his former employer3 to be taken into his employment, the former employer is obliged to employ the applicant, at the first opportunity, in the occupation which he previously held and on terms and conditions not less favourable than those which he previously enjoyed, or if this is not practicable, then in the most favourable occupation and on the most favourable terms and conditions as is reasonable and practicable4.
