The Crown may by Order in Council1 (a 'manoeuvres order') authorise manoeuvres to be held within a specified area (the 'manoeuvres area') for a specified period2. Local authority consent is required and affected bodies must be consulted3. Whenever a manoeuvres order is made, a manoeuvres commission must be formed, having power to impose requirements on the authorised forces and affected occupiers of land for the purpose of limiting damage or disturbance in consequence of the execution of the authorised manoeuvres4.
