283. Jurisdiction and validity of sentences of service courts of visiting forces.

The service courts1 and service authorities2 of any country specified in the Visiting Forces Act 1952, 3or designated by an Order in Council made under that Act4, may exercise, within the United Kingdom5 or on board any of Her Majesty's ships or aircraft6, all such powers as are exercisable by the law of that country over members of any of its forces which is a visiting force within the meaning of the Act7 and over all other persons who, being neither holders of British nationality8 nor ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom9 are for the time being subject to
