275. Extraterritorial jurisdiction.

Where prohibited acts1 take place in international waters or a prohibited excavation or operation2 is carried out in international waters, a person is guilty of an offence only: (1) if the acts or omissions constituting the offence are committed in the United Kingdom3, in United Kingdom waters or on board a British-controlled ship4; or (2) in a case where those acts or omissions are committed in international waters but not on board a British-controlled ship, if that person is a British citizen, a British overseas territories citizen or a British overseas citizen
