An employer1 is entitled to claim an award in respect of a reservist's service (an 'employer's award')2. The amount of such an award is the amount by which the replacement costs3 incurred by the employer exceed the relevant earnings4 of the reservist5, and is capped at £110 per day6. In addition an employer may claim the amount of agency fees and non-recurring advertising costs that he or she incurs in replacing the reservist7, may reclaim the cost of training for the reservist (a 'training award')8 or any person who replaces the reservist during the relevant period (a 'replacement award')
