No person is entitled to any benefit under the post-2005 scheme1 unless, in addition to any other conditions relating to that benefit being satisfied, he makes a claim for it in the manner, and within the time, specified in the scheme2. No claim need be made for benefit where a member of the forces: (1) is discharged on medical grounds3; or (2) dies whilst serving in the forces4.
The date on which a claim is made is the date on which it is received by the Service Personnel and Veterans Agency5.
