There are special provisions for the registration of births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships occurring outside the United Kingdom1 among members of Her Majesty's naval, military or air forces or civilians subject to service discipline2. Provision is made for ensuring the validity of marriages and civil partnerships entered into by members of the armed forces serving abroad3. Similar provisions also apply for registration as civil partners where at least one person is a serving member of the armed forces in specified countries, or on board one of Her Majesty's ships
