The basic condition for an award under the pre-2005 scheme1 is that the disability or death which gives rise to a claim for an award must be due to service2 before 6 April 20053.
Where, not later than seven years after the termination4 of a member's service, a claim is made in respect of his disablement, or his death occurs and a claim is made (at any time) in respect of that death, that disablement or death must be accepted as due to service if it is certified5 that: (1) the disablement is due to any injury6 which is attributable
