Emergency regulations1 must require a senior Minister of the Crown2 to appoint for each part of the United Kingdom3 other than England in relation to which the regulations have effect, a person to be known as the Emergency Co-ordinator for that part4; and for each region5 in relation to which the regulations have effect, a person to be known as the Regional Nominated Co-ordinator for that region6.
The principal purpose of the appointment is to facilitate co-ordination of activities under the emergency regulations7. In
