155.     Parliamentary scrutiny.

Where emergency regulations1 are made, a senior Minister of the Crown2 must lay the regulations before Parliament as soon as is reasonably practicable and the regulations lapse at the end of the period of seven days beginning with the date of laying unless during that period each House of Parliament passes a resolution approving them3. If each House of Parliament passes a resolution that emergency regulations are to cease to have effect, the regulations cease to have effect at such time as may be specified in the resolutions or, if no time is specified
