Where an appeal is brought against a direction1 of the disciplinary committee of the Council of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons as regards the removal of a person's name from the register or his suspension from registration, the direction takes effect if and when the appeal is dismissed and not otherwise2. Where no appeal is brought within the time limited for the appeal or it is brought but then withdrawn or struck out for want of prosecution, the direction takes effect on the expiration of that time
