The Protection of Badgers Act 1992 gives special protection to badgers and makes it an offence1 wilfully2 to kill, injure or take a badger3, or to attempt to do so4; or to dig for any badger5. It is also an offence6 to use in the course of killing or taking any badger (or attempting to do so) any badger tongs7; or to use for the purpose of killing or taking any badger certain firearms
