386. Separation and treatment.

Every person having in his possession or under his charge an animal affected with disease1 must as far as practicable keep it separate from animals not so affected2.

For the purpose of preventing the spread of disease the appropriate authority3 may cause to be treated with serum or vaccine or both any animal or bird which has been in contact with a diseased animal or bird or which appears to him to be or to have been exposed to the infection of disease, or which is in an infected area4. These powers extend to the taking of any action necessary
