Proceedings for summary offences under Part I of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 19811 may be brought within six months from the date on which evidence sufficient in the prosecutor's opinion to warrant the proceedings came to his notice2; but no such proceedings may be brought more than two years after the commission of the offence3. A certificate signed by or on his behalf stating the relevant date is conclusive4.
