Every person having in his possession or under his charge an animal affected with disease1 must with all practicable speed give notice2 that the animal is affected to a local police constable3, who must forthwith give information thereof to such person or authority as the appropriate authority4 may by order direct5. Orders may also be made containing requirements as to the notices to be given to or by various persons and authorities in the case of particular diseases6.
