376. Meaning of 'disease'.

Unless the context otherwise requires, and except in relation to poultry1, the word 'disease' in the Animal Health Act 1981 means cattle plague or rinderpest2, contagious pleuro-pneumonia of cattle, foot-and-mouth disease, sheep-pox, sheep scab or swine fever3. The appropriate authority4 may, however, by order5 extend this definition to include, for any purpose of the Act, any other disease of animals
