Consequent to the UK's withdrawal from the EU, this Halsbury paragraph should be read in conjunction with the Exotic Diseases in Animals (Miscellaneous Amendments) (Wales) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019, SI 2019/371; and the Zoonotic Disease Eradication and Control (Miscellaneous Amendments) (Wales) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019, SI 2019/372, pending incorporation of the changes into the text.

Unless the context otherwise requires, and except in relation to poultry1, the word 'disease' in the Animal Health Act 1981 means cattle plague or rinderpest2, contagious pleuro-pneumonia of cattle, foot-and-mouth disease, sheep-pox, sheep scab
